Date 33 - The Cyclist VII
The Scene: Community brunch hosted monthly with personalities that span the gamut.
The Attire: DVF tropical flowy skirt, black bodysuit with a low back.
The Meeting: My place as I opened the door to welcome him to the community brunch, nervous as he would be meeting my friends who are like family.
The Environment: Approximately 10 individuals gathered together over mixed dishes and insatiable recipes, sharing stories, and getting to know one another.
As he entered with his white knee-length cut-off shorts, a tank that mirrored the colors of the American flag, a summer fabricated blazer adorned with a touch of softness in pocket square choice and red sneakers; casual and funky just as I liked. He entered, handing me a sack and a little mini bouquet of baby breath. He stood at the door for a minute (taking a deep breath before diving in) and eventually made his way inside.
All eyes were on him!
He was amazing. Smiling and greeting every body in the building. I was impressed by his ease of engagement and I was annoyed that one over zealous spirit was clinging on to him like a moth to a flame (circa Janet Jackson). I was so perplexed but at the same time elated with the grace by which he handled it all. My sorority sisters gave him a hard time and his charisma elevated their approval rating.
He stayed and helped me clean, took out the garbage and ensured all things were satisfactory before he walked us all out as we embarked upon our next destination.
Note to Self: Continue to learn the spectrum of a man.
Shout Out to Men: Express yourself!
Question: How do you show up to your partners friends and/or family?
